Treatable Cancers

Some of the typical cancers that can be treated with proton therapy are as follows.

Head and neck tumors 16-26 times / 3.2-5.2 weeks
Non-small cell lung cancer 10-40 times / 2-8 weeks
Hepatoma 10-38 times / 2-7.6 weeks
Prostate cancer※ 20-21 times / 4-4.2 weeks
Postoperative relapse of rectal cancer 37 times / 7.4 weeks
20 times / 5 weeks
Pediatric tumors 20-30 times / 5-6 weeks

※There can be some cases which consist of 37-40times / 7.4-8weeks,
  depending on the overall physical condition of the patient.

  • Suitability is restricted by the size and stage of the cancer and the overall physical condition of the patient.
  • Treatment is advancing all around the world, and we expect more cancers to be treatable in the future.
  • Cancers that affect the entire body, such as leukemia or malignant lymphoma, as well as ones like stomach cancer, cannot be treated
    with proton therapy.
